Next Meeting: Tuesday 5th March

The next Residents Association meeting will take place on Tuesday 5th March.

At our previous meeting we heard from Claire Fisher from Nexus who spoke to us about the services they cover such as the local buses, metro, Shields Ferry and local rail services between Sunderland and Newcastle. Claire was also helpful in asnwering questions and concerns that residents have about local bus services such as the threat of removing some streets from routes and the possiblility of routing the 700 service through the hospital. She went on to explain about the various concessionary passes available and those available to people who may need additional assistance in using public transport. For more information visit The Nexus Website.

At the February meeting we also heard from residents who had sought help from the council in dealing with rubbish in back lanes and problem neighbours. In both cases the residents concerned reported successful outcomes.

We often have members of the anti-social behaviour team or council officers from the neighbourhood response teams and PC Keven Hood often attends. All can advise residents on any problems they may have.

Anyone living or working in the area is welcome to join us at 7pm on the first Tuesday of each month in St Mary Magdelene's Church Hall, Wilson Street.
