Improving Road Safety

Changes are planned for the junction of St Luke's Terrace and Neville Road.

At the junction onto St Luke's Road, there are no road markings to determine lanes and cars coming from St Luke's Terrace often cut across into the right hand lane. There are many near misses on a daily basis with cars cutting across and not filtering properly with traffic coming from Neville Road.

Cllr Paul Dixon recently held a site meeting with council highway engineers who have agreed to install new and renew existing road markings making it easy for drivers to know which lane to remain in. Where cars often cut across the lanes, the council is to install chevrons to keep vehicle in correct lane enabling them to filter correctly and so prevent accidents.
