The working group, made up of representatives from the Residents Association, Councillors and council officers, which worked together to develop the new residents parking scheme are continuing to monitor the situation. The next meeting is on the 6th of February and we would like to be able to feed back residents views on the scheme.
If your street is in the scheme, is it working? Are there any problems with it?
If your street is not in the scheme, how are you affected? Is parking worse than before? Better than before?

Hi,
ReplyDeleteI'd echo the comments made in the minutes of your meeting - parking at the Chester Road end of Ewesley Road has become much more of a problem since the parking scheme was introduced.
One thing that I'm not sure has been mentioned so far is back lane parking - we're seeing lots more people parking in the back lane which obviously causes difficulty for the many people who park one car in their back yard.
PLEASE can we have a vote on extending the scheme to our streets ASAP..?
Well done for consulting like this. Would be good to see our councillors doing the same rather than posing for pictures with their mums in the Echo making out the whole thing is a big laugh.
Thanks for you comment.
ReplyDeleteWe understand the problems with parking in back lanes and where the scheme has been set up the back lanes are restricted to permit holders only.
If you can't get your car out because of the way someone has parked, the police have been very helpful in the past (and have been known to remove the offending vehicle)!
Hopefully the vote to extend the scheme will come within the next six months. We should know more after the meeting next Monday, keep an eye out here on the blog or come along to our meeting on Tuesday 7th for an update.
